"I find the workout groups uniquely challenging. Not because of the usual reasons: making choices on the spot, performing said quick choices to a group of people you've never met, etc. But rather, because they force you to put the director's hat on. In that role, your job is not to criticize. Your job is to get the best performance you can out of the actor… So yes, these workout groups are great for practicing your craft. But the real value, I think, lies in the fact that, unlike in the vast majority of classes and workshops out there, they don't teach you how to be an actor. They teach you how to be a director."

I particularly enjoyed the format of the workshop, having us work our scripts with Gillian first working on our acting choices, then with Randall to work on character development.
